Age

In 1992, Chengdu Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources and Sichuan Provincial Survey Team determined the age of the formation as the Early Triassic. This lexicon uses the culvert of the original Papai Formation. Schematic stratigraphic section suggests span of Induan through early Olenekian.
